Richard redefined blockchain as a self-sustaining public key ledger. Self-sustaining refers to a healthy economy where all contributors will be paid fairly. The current PoW blockchain only awards miners and validators but not bandwidth, storage, transaction sourcing, etc, which will break the sustainability of the ecosystem.
